a liquid food especially with a meat, fish, or vegetable stock as a base and often containing pieces of solid food

Middle English soupe, from Anglo-French supe sop, soup, of Germanic origin.

Soups.  We all love them!  They come in just about every variety that you can imagine. From creamy to chunky, red to green, thick, thin, brothy or a stew, soups are the ultimate comfort food.  They just have certain healing properties... and they are like a warm sweater for our bellies!  Soups can excite and encourage, they are sharable, they cure colds... oh, and they can make us forget about the weather!!


Forget about the freezing temperatures today and put on a big pot of soup, or a stew, or chili, or chowder, or... geez the list is never-ending!  Here are some soup recipes to get you through the day, or any day for that matter.  But especially today - most of the roads are closed anyway, don't leave the house and put on a huge pot of soup.  Oh - and send me pictures!  I'll post them!  Taste ya' later!!!
